Vikings, DL Harrison Phillips just exteded his contract with the vikings for two-years….
Harrison Phillips, a defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings, and the organization reached a two-year contract extension, the team announced on Tuesday.
According to sources who spoke with ESPN, the agreement is worth up to $19 million and keeps Phillips with the Vikings until the 2026 campaign.
Following the deal’s announcement on Tuesday, Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores stated, “He does a lot of great things for us that really don’t get noticed from a team-building and comradery standpoint, and he’s also a very good player.”
After spending four seasons as a backup with the Buffalo Bills, Phillips, 28, originally inked a three-year, $19.5 million free agent contract with the Vikings in March 2022. Since then, he has appeared in every game for Minnesota, posting career highs in both 2022 (59) and tackles and 92) in 2023, along with 5.5 sacks over that time.
Phillips was selected one of the eight Vikings captains earlier this month. He batted away one pass, had five tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss in the Vikings’ 28-6 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday.
