The man who was detained in Orangeburg for the murder of a Myrtle Beach woman disclosed that the victim was one of four people sacrificed that same evening and that she was used as a retrial.

A man wanted in connection with the May 2022 disappearance of a woman was taken into custody by the authorities.

Sheridan Fogle, 54, was taken into custody in Orangeburg early on Thursday and is accused of killing 51-year-old Penni Whiteside.

When Whiteside moved in with Fogle in the 600 block of 1st Avenue South on May 11, 2022, according to Myrtle Beach police, the case began as a missing person case.

Witness comments obtained throughout the inquiry, according to the police, suggested that the victim might have been interred close to the house in the rear beneath a campfire.

On June 12, investigators were granted a search warrant for the premises, and it was around this time that the victim’s remains were found and positively identified.

Several neighbors who WMBF News interviewed with claimed to be completely shocked by the news and to have no information about what had happened.

“I find it utterly strange,” Nikolai Zaitsev remarked. “I mean, there are kids playing in this park every day, and there are birthday parties.”Events that take place here include weddings and gatherings. Furthermore, I’m convinced that nobody in this area knew the truth about what was truly happening.

Another neighbor, Jamie, remarked, “That was a very shocking situation, you know, I’ve never heard about anything like that happening around here.”

Those neighbors expressed their optimism that justice would be done after learning about the situation.

There will be evil individuals everywhere you go. Jamie expressed his satisfaction, saying, “Hopefully they have enough evidence to get a conviction.

Zaitsev remarked, “I hope the man stays where he’s at.” “I hope they learn more about the specifics and the incident.”

The Myrtle Beach Police Department described Whiteside’s passing as “a tragic loss of life and a senseless crime of violence” in a statement.

The cause of death in this instance has not been disclosed by the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

Thank you, the Myrtle Beach Police Department the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Marshals Service for their assistance in making the arrest in this case.
