Robert Griffin III return on wednessday after been Fired By ESPN Days After Defending Florida State a month ago…..
According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN fired commentator Robert Griffin III (RGIII) only a few days after he openly defended the Seminoles, who came under fire for voicing their displeasure over being eliminated from the 2023 College Football Playoff.
“Anyone trying to disparage or take cheap jabs at Florida State for missing out on the College Football Playoff last season must be living in a fantasy world. Griffin posted on Twitter, “FSU wasn’t a team that was kept out because they lost a close game.” They are a team whose starting quarterback suffered an ankle fracture, which prevented him from playing. THAT IS NOT SOMETHING TO GLANCE AT.
The College Football Playoff Selection Committee from the previous year has been the subject of much controversy, despite the fact that the remarks weren’t made in reference to any one person. ESPN’s Paul Finebaum said on air that Florida State has no chance of qualifying for the playoffs this year because the “Noles have ‘cried too many tears’ after last year’s snub and will finish 2024 unranked.
