Julius Randle’s future with the New York Knicks doesn’t look as bright as it once did after the team made lots of aggressive moves in the last 12 months to acquire the likes of Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby. With rumors of Randle possibly being on his way out of the franchise, Patrick Beverley shared his thoughts on the same on ‘The PatBev Podcast’, suggesting Randle joins the Sacramento Kings.

“It’s tough when you sign all those kinds of players in his position. The writing’s on the wall. When the Clippers got James Harden, I knew Paul George would be out of there. I mean, 1+1=2… In their defense, they had a lot of success without him, probably the most success the Knicks have had since he’s been on the team.”

“I’d like to see him on the Sacramento Kings. Him in Sac? That’ll be nice, that’ll be different.”Randle averaged 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists last season but shoulder injuries forced him to miss most of the second half of the season. As Beverley mentioned, the Knicks played some of their best basketball when Randle was sidelined and the team was relying on OG Anunoby and Josh Hart as the team’s power forwards.

Due to Randle’s offensive skillset and the fact that the team will have to feed him to get him going, it might be really challenging for the Knicks to feed everyone on the team. Jalen Brunson is the clear No. 1 option, but Mikal Bridges is also an offensive weapon who’ll demand touches. The same goes for Anunoby and even Donte DiVincenzo.

Randle is reaching a point of obsolescence with the Knicks, but that doesn’t mean a team like the Kings wouldn’t help him bounce back and prove to the NBA and the Knicks that he’s still an All-NBA caliber forward.
