Brendan Rodgers, interviews on the posibility of celtic going far in the champions leagues this season…

After a tremendously successful first stint from 2016 to 2019, during which he won seven out of seven trophies, including an undefeated league season, the Invincibles Treble, and the historic Double Treble, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers made a comeback to the team last summer.

The Irishman has led Celtic to a league and cup double since his return, winning the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup in the previous campaign. He has carried over his excellent play into this season, helping the squad win five out of five games in all competitions.

Their most recent result the most important, a 3-0 triumph over Old Firm rivals Rangers at Celtic Park where they were as dominant as ever. There’s plenty reason for Celtic fans to be excited about the season ahead as they look to retain their Scottish Premiership title and set their sights on a successful Champions League campaign. Our list looks at Celtic’s prospects for the 24/25 season.

As mentioned, The Bhoys couldn’t have hoped for a much better start to their league season. Routine victories over Kilmarnock, Hibernian and St. Mirren capped off by their Old Firm victory on Sunday has seen them shorten from 4/9 to the current price of 1/8 to make it their fourth consecutive league title.

A key part of their domination in Scottish football is their recruitment and how they find good value talent, which can be sold for profit or become an important part of their squad. It’s an experienced squad matched with promising young players that make a good mix. This summer, they sold one of their star players Matt O’Riley for £25 million having brought him in for under two million, this is a good example of their business.

Another of their best players is winger Kyogo Furuhashi, scoring in the Old Firm win on the weekend, he is favourite to be the top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership. The attacker was the top scorer in the 2022/2023 season with 27 goals, if he can find a repeat of that type of scoring form with the way that Celtic have started, he looks set to be a regular fixture on the scoreboard.
