A Heartfelt Message from a Former Denver Nuggets Coach to NBA Legend” Nikola Jokic.

With Carmelo Anthony, the Denver Nuggets never took home an NBA Championship, but they did have some fantastic, very exciting basketball seasons. Carmelo’s former coach is prepared to put the past behind him at this point.

In the storied 2003 NBA Draft, Anthony was selected third overall, behind Darko Milicic and LeBron James. George Karl, a former Seattle Supersonics coach, coached him every year but his rookie season. Karl played for nine seasons in Denver from 2004 to 2013, almost the whole time Anthony was there. In six and a half seasons together, the pair recorded a 299-185 record. Anthony did not have a wonderful exit from Denver, which left both parties with mixed feelings.

George Karl declared today on Twitter that he was prepared to put the rivalry between the two parties behind him and was grateful for what he had accomplished.

“I’m done feuding with Carmelo Anthony in a time of division, where coming together truly matters,” declared George Karl, the former coach of the Nuggets. “I hold Melo in the highest regard. Even though we haven’t met yet, I hear he’s kicking ass and using his power for good. From now on, it’s only love.”During his seven and a half years with the Nuggets in Denver, Carmelo Anthony averaged 24.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals a game.

Ultimately, it’s positive to see both parties set their differences aside and show appreciation for one another for the good years they’ve had together on top of the good they’ve done in their communities since.
