Another Cy-Hawk week is upon us, full of excitement and intrigue as Iowa’s two major schools go head-to-head once again.

Ahead of Saturday’s matchup, Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz met with the media Tuesday to discuss the matchup, the state of the Hawkeyes and more.

Here’s what stood out Actually I had a grandson in the house, so got up, had two scrambled eggs, nothing too dramatic,” Ferentz remarked. However, watching the game on TV is not the same as it was once it started. It is radically different. Your vision has improved. Well, that’s one thing. That was the second thing: I had a good surface to write on. Those are two upgrades, I suppose.

“But aside from that, not much positive could be said about it. It’s sterile, and you’re essentially in the dark. It was quite bizarre because you get this whole disconnected sensation from the game—not that I play much anyhow.22 It’s just a totally different experience,” Ferentz said. “You feel totally disconnected. I thought about that a little bit. Like if I were retired, the difference is you’re not invested the way you are if you work here every day or are with the guys every day.
