Which former players of the Boston Celtics deserve an honorary ring for Banner 18? Now that the team has finally raised Banner 18, every player on the team will receive a ring on opening night of the 2024–25 NBA season, regardless of how much (or how little) they contributed to the championship. However, what about all of the players who helped the team win an NBA championship during the protracted rebuild from the Banner 17 “ubuntu” crew? Which of those supporting players deserves a ring? Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart, Robert Williams III, Malcolm Brogdon, and Grant Williams are just a few names that one could find present a convincing argument for an honorary title ring.
